Syndicate: Yugoslavia. Macedonia, etc.... |
Pavle@aol.com writes: Hi everyone, Last night Clinton made a cowardly speech about holocaust in Yugoslavia. And every time he needed to say Macedonia, he replaced it by saying "in the surrounding areas." To add insult to injury, the White House and general Clark of NATO are the ONLY ones using the acronym Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to their maps. (See down bellow the letter I sent to Clark this morning.) I feel like screaming STOP! __________________________ I am sending this to everyone I know. Please help. It is not only important that you protect NATO forces but to protect Macedonia who had been drawn into this conflict, not of his own doing but by way of its inherent historical and geopolitical connection to Kosovo and Yugoslavia. To say that "if attacked in Macedonia, NATO is capable of defending itself," without mentioning the protection of Macedonia, whose grounds are so eagerly being used for your purposes, is an invitation for more bloodshed. Furthermore, I would like to ask that you do not refer to Macedonia by its politically motivated acronym FYROM. The country's constitutional name is The Republic of Macedonia. To call it FYROM is a slap in the face to the Macedonian people in view of their extended courtesy to NATO, at the risk of reprisal from Yugoslavia. It is precisely this type of behavior which inflames, propagates and prolongs conflicts such as the one you are dealing with presently. Sincerely, Pavlina Proevska ____________
