RADIATOR FESTIVAL FOR NEW TECHNOLOGY ART NOTTINGHAM, UK DATE: 01-11 May 2003 LOCATION: Broadway Cinema and beyond, Nottingham For information, brochure and tickets contact:+44(0)115 840 9272 info@trampoline-berlin.de www.radiator-festival.org For eleven days Radiator 002 will be sending out waves of digital inspiration from Broadway Media Centre, Nottingham. Artists Dane, Rona Lee, Matt Hawthorn, Richard Squires, Stan¹s Cafe and Nullpointer have all been specially commissioned to produce new works to stimulate your senses and blow your minds. Radiator 002 is about participation and interaction as well as gaze and appearance; take a trip into art¹s new arena. The festival will be offering a diverse range of exhibits, events, screenings, demonstrations and workshops. The programme will include: - Talks from Steve Benford (Mixed Reality Laboratories) and Blast Theory (Roy All Around You and Can You See Me Now?), Marko Peljhan and Arts Catalyst (Makrolab), Jeanie Finlay (Ruby, Home-Maker-Tokyo) - In collaboration with NOW, Radiator 002 presents Peace Keeper, a computer-game based new work by Nullpointer (Tom Betts). - Practical workshops: Paul Granjon (Z Productions) - Basic Stamp Robotics. Sarah Thom (Gob Squad) - Performance Ideas for Live Streaming. Gareth Howell Flash Animation for Computer Games. Dan Belasco-Rogers Using GPS Technology. - Radiator 002 launches with its platform event Trampoline; a showcase for video, digital and multimedia performance talent. Expect the unexpected and revel in the Œanything goes¹ atmosphere. Trampoline Digital Moments will continue throughout the festival. - Nottingham University¹s Innovative Manufacturing Centre will be demonstrating free form 3-D digital sculpting. Play with digital clay and see your creations appear before your very eyes! - Artist Frank Abbott will be chairing a debate on the role of art, technology and politics in today¹s society; get away from the TV coverage and join the discussion. - Throughout the festival there will be a series of film screenings: Trampoline Shorts; Berlin vs Nottingham, Transmediale; TV and Back and Playing Games, Intermedia: DV Shorts and a free screening of Shooting Live Artists. - Plug In; a whole day of careers advice and information for creatives. Representatives and individuals working within the creative industries will be offering advice about funding systems, business opportunities, courses and much more. - Schools Day in conjunction with Creative Partnerships; screenings and interactive works for kids by kids.
