INTERNETMANIFESTATIE HAVENLAND NU AL GROOT SUCCES

Tijdens de Week van de Zee (21 t/m 28 mei) initieert stichting Archipel Ameland de internetmanifestatie Havenland - www.archipel.nu. Stichting Media Art Friesland coördineerde op uitnodiging de projecten Havenhoofd en Havenschetsen samen met de Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden (NHL), afdeling Communication & Multimedia Design op Ameland. Met computer en breedband internetaansluiting is Havenland luid en duidelijk te ontvangen.

 

Geluidskunst vanuit de vuurtoren bij u thuis

Zondag 28 mei, 14.00 uur

Het internetconcert wordt op 45 meter hoogte vanuit de Amelanders vuurtoren uitgezonden. Raudio Havenland Placard, bestaat uit geluidskunstenaars Ookoi, Harold Schellinx (F/NL) en Peter Mertens (Park 4DTV/ Raudio).

De composities en improvisaties worden gemixt met live bijdragen van muzikanten en kunstenaars Sonic Kitchen (Bremen, Duitsland), Brad Brace (Portland, USA), Mark Webster (Parijs, Frankrijk), Jay Needham (Illinois, USA), Ate M. Hes (Utrecht), Igor et Grichka (Parijs, Frankrijk), James Dougherty (Barcelona, Spanje).

 

Eerste groep Havenwerkers naar thuishaven

Afgelopen dagen is hard gewerkt aan de projecten Havenhoofd en Havenschetsen in het Archipel MediaLab. De beeld- en geluidjutters, technici, coördinatoren en een journalist waaien nu weer huiswaarts met een voldaan gevoel. De fysieke plek wordt ingeruild voor virtuele thuishavens. De interdisciplinaire samenwerking is goed tot zijn recht gekomen. Meer dan 2150 foto's en 77 video's zijn te bekijken via www.archipel.nu 

 

Het project Havenhoofd experimenteert met beeld- en geluidsmateriaal, zoeksystemen en software (CMS). Kunstenaar Michiel Koelink zorgde voor de inhoudelijke en artistieke coördinatie. Het technische team vanuit de NHL, Jeroen Deen en drie studenten namen de techniek en de opbouw van de websites voor hun rekening. Vijf kunstenaars en vier NHL studenten zorgden voor het beeldarchief. Zij maakten foto's, audio- en videodocumenten op verschillende plekken op Ameland als de veerterminal en de jachthaven bij Nes, het vliegveld van Ballum, de oude havendam in de Ballumerbocht, het strand langs het Borndiep en het Oerd - de plek waar wadlopers aan land komen. Richard de Boer droeg (en draagt) bij aan het project via een Havenhoofdblog.

 

Havenschetsen is een weblog met observaties waarin de beeld- & geluidjutters, technici en coördinatoren meer persoonlijke registraties publiceren. Korte schetsen in de vorm van clips, anekdotes, foto's, havengeluiden, opmerkelijke dingen die men zoal kan tegenkomen als men op reis gaat met camera en microfoon.

 

HAVENLAND wordt mogelijk gemaakt met de steun van Timo Mank (Stichting Archipel Ameland), Stay Okay Hotel (Hollum), Kabel Noord, VVV Ameland, Provincie Fryslân en Rederij Wagenborg.

 

 

INTERNET MANIFESTATION HARBOUR LAND ALREADY GREAT SUCCESS

As part of the Week of the Sea (20-28 May 2006) on the Dutch island Ameland, foundation Archipel Ameland organises the e-culture project Havenland ('Harbour Land') - www.archipel.nu. 
Media Art Friesland coordinated two sub-projects in collaboration with the Dutch College, Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden, faculty Communication & Multimedia Design: Havenhoofd ('Harbour Head') and Havenschetsen ('Harbour Sketches').
Needs: computer and broadband internet connection.

 

Lighthouse sound art at your home

Sunday, May 28th from 2.00PM

Raudio Havenland Placard broadcasts at 45 meters height from the lighthouse tower on the isle Ameland. Raudio Havenland Placard exists of sound artists Ookoi, Harold Schellinx (F/NL) and Peter Mertens (Park 4DTV/ Raudio).

The live composing will be mixed through live stream with works by musicians and artists as Sonic Kitchen (Bremen, Germany), Brad Brace (Portland, USA), Mark Webster (Paris, France), Jay Needham (Illinois, USA), Ate M. Hes (Utrecht, NL), Igor et Grichka (Paris, France), James Dougherty (Barcelona, Spain).

 

First group harbour workers return to home port 
In the past few days a lot of work has been done at the Archipel MediaLab. The team 'image & sound beach combers', technicians and coordinators sail back home satisfied. The physical spot is replaced by virtual home ports. The interdisciplinary cooperation worked out really well. Over 2150 photos and 77 videos can be watched via www.archipel.nu. 

HAVENHOOFD ('HARBOUR HEAD') experiments with 'content management systems' (CMS). 
Artist Michiel Koelink took care of the contents and the artistic coordination. The technical team from the NHL, Jeroen Deen and three students focused on the research and development of the website. Five artists and four students from the NHL manage the image archive. They took pictures and made audio-visual documents on different places on Ameland, such as the airport of Ballum, the marina at Nes and the beach aside of the Borndiep and the reserve Oerd. During this period Richard de Boer maintains a Havenhoofd blog.

HAVENSCHETSEN ('HARBOUR SKETCHES') is a blog that contains personal observations and short sketches from the participants of the project, such as clips, photographs, anecdotes, sounds and registrations, remarkable things one stumbles upon when you take your camera and microphone for a walk.
